Work in Image recognition to classify bird images. Used image augmentation techniques to decrease the impact of overfitting and increased overall accuracy of the classifier by 3-4%. Rewrote all code in Lasagne written by one of the professor's previous students to Keras with real-time data augmentation to improve accuracy. Also used weights from VGG and Resnet, two of the top neural networks in machine learning, to compare how they affect Deepmask, an object proposal network by Facebook.
